Bro. Derek came to JFBC in January of 2005 from the First Baptist Church of Senath, Missouri. He is married to Shannon, and they have 3 young boys at home.
Derek graduated from Lonoke High School in 1985, Central Baptist College in 1992 (BA in Theology), and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005 (Master of Divinity).
Besides pastoring/preaching, he enjoys playing golf, reading, spending time with his family, and collecting Spiderman toys and comics (from his childhood) as well as San Diego Charger memorabilia (his place of birth). You can contact him dicombs@suddenlink.net if you have any for sale!
Erin Huddleston - Youth Minister
Erin serves as our youth minister (grades 7-12) and does a fantastic job! She is a home-grown girl having graduated from Jessieville High in 1997. She received two Bachelor's degrees from Ouachita Baptist University (BA in Biblical Studies) and Henderston State University (BSE in Early Childhood Education).
Currently she is teaching 1st grade at Oaklawn Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School in Hot Springs. In her spare time (right, like she has any!?!), she enjoys reading, hanging out with her students, interior design, and going to Starbucks - as well as Nashville, TN - with her sister Rachel.
Lori Phillips - Worship Leader
Lori leads worship for us every Sunday morning. She does a wonderful job of blending traditional and contemporary worship music to help both yound and old alike praise God.
Not only does Lori lead our worship, but she wears many other hats as well - she directs the "Kids for the King" choir (ages 4 through 6th grade), leads the Adult Choir, directs Vacation Bible School, works in AWANAs, and from time to time does an excellent job of "customizing" our church with her fantastic artwork!
Lori is married to Don Phillips (head football coach of the Jessieville Lions), and they have two grown children, Sarah Beth and Cody.
Beth Pierce and Shannon Combs - Instrumentalists (piano/keyboard)
Without these two very talented ladies, our worship service would not be complete! We are very blessed and thankful to have both of them serving the Lord here at JFBC.
Pierce Ivers - Percussion
Every Sunday Pierce joins the other instrumentalists on drums to help lead us in worship. The music always needs that little, extra "something" - and Pierce provides it by his talented percussion playing!
Bob Huddleston - Office Manager
Without Bob, none of the administrative duties would get done around JFBC. More than a secretary, Bob handles all of the purchasing and administrative functions for the church, as well as serving as treasurer. He also currently serves as our AWANA commander. In his spare time, he "dabbles" at fly fishing (he's actually getting quite good at it!). We are very grateful to have him serving on staff with us!
Barbara Eskew - Nursery Coordinator
Because families are a priority to us at JFBC, Barbara makes sure that our nursery is top notch! From coordinating workers to changing diapers, she views the church nursery as her place of ministry. We are very fortunate to have her serving the Lord in this capacity!
